We are drowning in information but starved for knowledge. John Naisbitt
Contact me to schedule a conversation where we will identify the potential value of a data science initiative. The conversation would have three specific aims:
Discuss general business objectives and challenges. SWOT analysis
Discuss currently maintained data and databases
Discuss feasibility of gathering additional data (i.e., surveys, questionnaires, etc.)

Big Data Analytics - The field of Data Science
An important commodity to decision making, is information. It’s not uncommon for companies to maintain multiple databases of sales and operational information. The extraction of specific information from these many databases, can significantly help in the decision making process. Data Science is essentially the exploration into the processes and systems used to extract information from data contained in various forms.
The following is an overview of steps generally found in a data science initiative:
Organize and conduct focus groups that identify questions and issues pertaining to organization strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT). Focus groups can include employees, customers, city officials and any other potential stakeholder.
Conduct a detailed inventory of currently maintained information / databases.
Develop quantitative evaluation protocols designed to capture additional information deemed necessary to address organization needs.
Identify and merge variables and data sources found to be of value in addressing organization strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
Conduct statistical analyses on dataset, provide detailed data output.
Provide non-scientific interpretation of data analysis.
